Safeguarding Policy

Scottish Off Road Club Ltd
Safeguarding

The Scottish Off Road Club Ltd is committed to the safeguarding of children and adults at risk.
All Club Officers and members should show respect and understanding for the rights, safety and welfare of others and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of the Club.
The Club encourages and expects all its members and officials to comply with policy, guidance and best practice as issued by Motorsport UK.

Key principles of safeguarding policy are:
– The welfare of the child or the adult at risk is, and must always be, paramount to any other
consideration.
– All children and all adults at risk, regardless of age, gender, ability or disability, race, faith,
culture, size, shape, language or sexual identity have the right to be protected from abuse or harm.
– All allegations, suspicions or concerns of abuse, neglect or harm will be taken seriously and
responded to swiftly.
– A child is anyone under the age of 18 engaged in any motor sport activity.

The Club recognises that all children and all adults at risk have the right to participate in sport in a safe, positive and enjoyable environment whilst at the same time being protected from abuse, neglect, harm and poor practice.
The Club further recognises that this is the responsibility of every adult involved, in whatever capacity. Any concerns or issues in relation to safeguarding should be referred in the first instance to the Club Safeguarding Officer.
